International Association for the Study of Pain is a leading professional forum for science, practice and education in the field of pain. www.iasp-pain.org
International Association for the Study of Pain was founded in 1973 and at present includes more than 6500 members from 123 countries, has 82 subsidiaries and 14 national groups, “Special Interest Groups” (SIGS).
International Association for the Study of Pain has a number of publications monthly or bimonthly, congress organized by various topics related to specific pain, give scholarships and to support international pain research.
In 2008, following a competition with over 2,000 works of proposed presentations, the authors study PROPENTOPHYLLINE: ACTIVATION GLIAL INHIBITION, OPIOID ANTAGONIST OR PARTIAL AGONISTS? received a travel grant from the IASP ® for presenting the results at 12th World Congress of Pain - Glasgow, Scotland, August 17-22, 2008. In 2009, the authors mentioned above have received a second travel grant from EFIC (European Federation of IASP Chapters ®) for the presentation of works: ANTINOCICEPTIVE ACTIONS OF THE COMBINATIONS OF ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID WITH NON-OPIOID ANALGESICS and ANTINOCICEPTIVE ACTION OF ACETAMINOPHEN - USING THE TAIL COMBINATION OXICAM IMMERSION TEST IN MICE presented in Europe, VI, 6th Congress of the European Federation of IASP ®, Lisbon, Portugal, September 9-12, 2009 (European Journal of Pain, Volume 13, Supplement 1, September 2009, Pages S106-S107)
Yearly, the International Association for the Study of Pain offers 10 grants to improve education in pain. Membership in this association gives to the members the opportunity to submit such projects.

For the years 2009-2010, 12 projects were selected from all submitted applications worldwide.
