SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH (COLLABORATION & RESULTS)
During the recent years the research area of the department included pharmacodynamic interaction studies (pharmacometrics) binary combinations of analgesic substances and substances that affect the immune or inflammatory response.
The results were published in journals or presented at national and international congresses. Two of them have. Two of them have received international recognition by providing travel grants for authors (2008, Glasgow, 2009 - Lisbon).
Research is also focused on experimental studies of the pharmacodynamic activity of natural or synthetic substances with analgesic, NSAIDs (anti-rheumatic), immunomodulatory, anti-ulcer, hepatotropic (choleretic, colecistokinetic, hepatoprotective) actions.
Some staff members are employees of the Center for Study and Therapy of Pain and of the Laboratory of Experimental and Applied Physiology of the Romanian Academy from Iasi.
Collaborations have resulted in research grants while results were presented at scientific meetings domestic and abroad.
The department is also involved in organizing the annual conference "Days of Medicine" (Coordinator Prof. OC Mungiu)
